Welcome to the Mexico Institute’s ‘Where They Stand: Candidates' Policy Proposals’
In this section, you will be able to read short descriptions of most of the Mexican presidential candidates’ campaign proposals. We have divided them by policy areas (i.e. security, education, health, etc.) and collected and translated them from the official candidate websites and select media outlets covering daily campaign activities. Due to the limited and disperse nature of available information on many policy issues, our list may not be comprehensive. Nonetheless, it will be updated frequently in an attempt to compile the majority of policy proposals made by each of the candidates.
The policies are divided into the following sections: Security and the Rule of Law; Anti-Corruption Efforts; Mexico in the World; and Economic Development which includes Education, Health, Energy and Environment, Agriculture, Farming and Fishing, and Poverty Alleviation
